EQUESTRIAN

RESULTS FROM THE INTER-HOUSE EVENT

Riders from five houses competed in the annual Inter-House equestrian event last Wednesday at Bergview Stables. Despite the heat, the riders performed well. Usherwood won the Turn Out Parade, and Frances Baines won overall.

Congratulations to Esther van Eeden, who was selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal at the Sanesa Nationals competition in Johannesburg recently. Esther was chosen for her outstanding performance in Eventing Level 3.

INDOOR HOCKEY

Our short indoor hockey season has started off with some tough opposition, but our teams have shown great determination and skill.

  • The Senior A girls have played four games, with one convincing win against GHS (4-1).
  • The Senior B girls played extremely well against St Johns, but were unlucky to lose by a single goal.
  • The Junior A team has had a mixed start to the season, with one win, one draw, and one loss each. The Junior B team played with great determination against St Johns, but were unable to come away with a win.

Overall, it has been a positive start to the season for our indoor hockey teams. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and are confident that our teams will continue to improve and succeed.

WATER POLO

MATCHES VS TWC - 11 OCTOBER

Two St Anne's water polo teams played in the friendly league last Wednesday. Both teams lost, but they learned a lot and will come back stronger.

TOP SCHOOLS TOURNAMENTS - 13 - 15 OCTOBER

St Anne's dominated the Top Schools age group tournaments this weekend. The U14s and U16s went unbeaten in their pool games and finished first, and the 1st team also went unbeaten in their pool games but finished second. St Anne's are the overall winners for 2023!

Congratulations to our matrics, Annabel Hardie, Sarah Mills, and Emma Thornton, who have been an integral part of the St Anne's Water Polo community. Their dedication and vibrant spirit will be truly missed in and out of the pool.

Special mention to the U16 team, who scored 180 goals over the 8 games and only conceded 11.

Well done to our Ladies in Blue!
